67Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a kind old woodcarver named Geppetto. He made a wooden puppet named Pinocchio. One night, Geppetto said, %u201cI wish Pinocchio was a real boy.%u201dThe Blue Fairy heard his wish and said, %u201cPinocchio can be a real boy if he is honest and brave.%u201dThe next day, Pinocchio went to school. On the way, he met a fox and a cat. They said, %u201cCome with us to a fun place!%u201dPinocchio went with them but he knew he should be at school. The Blue Fairy appeared and asked, %u201cWhy aren%u2019t you at school?%u201dPinocchio lied, and his nose grew longer. The Blue Fairy said, %u201cAlways tell the truth, Pinocchio.%u201d Then she helped him go back to school.Another day, Pinocchio met the fox and the cat again. They took him to an island where boys turned into donkeys. Pinocchio saw his friend Lampwick turning into a donkey.Pinocchio said, %u201cI must leave this place and find my father.%u201d
